Torn

What is broken has a story, a timeline, for it was untouched in its original form, but it had been changed somewhere down the line. Hands have been laid on it. The piece that is broken transcends the visual, it achieves a physicality, becomes tactile. The transformation occurs due to the physical act that is applied to it. Now torn, what may have been passed over without a second thought forces attention on it. Such splitting of the physical matter gives birth to another substance - the intangible one. The result of the force that is always present and unpredictable. The destruction of the image is in turn the awakening of the piece. A blank plaster plaque is nothing, but once it has been altered and in essence destroyed, it becomes at its core a vastly different object The tear is one swift stroke that destroys, but in turn creates value that goes beyond what the image or object is.
